In the Announce Messages with Siri option in Notifications, it only gives me the option to have iMessages announced.
I thought that you could receive third party messages as well like WhatsApp.
Anyone else having any problems with this or is it not yet functional?

Is anybody able to reply with this feature? Not only can’t I reply, but it freezes my “Hey Siri” after as well until I remove my AirPods.

The Siri voice is way too quiet, I really can't understand a word
Try adjusting the volume while Siri is speaking the text. I got the volume up to painful levels lol. Have someone purposefully text you so you know it’s coming and can intercept the message with the volume buttons while it’s coming through.

Think I found out why reply wasn’t working and it was driving me nuts that it didn’t. I tested this by connecting my AirPods with my wife’s phone and it worked on hers. I then went through both our phone’s settings with a fine tooth comb and this is what changed it for me: toggle “OFF” type to Siri. Since I did that, I was able to reply every time.

I’ve noticed that with music playing at a low volume the music will go up when Siri is reading to me.

When I first heard the new tone before Siri starts speaking I wasn’t sure what it I'm

Also it seems like my music plays softer for a few seconds after the message is read. I’m guessing that is Siri waiting for me to possibly reply to the message?

Does it work only with iMessages or is it supposed to announce text messages as well?

Only iMessages work for me. When I get a message from a non-iPhone user it just says that they sent a message but doesn’t read the message.

that be me

I have a weird bug where I'll get the tone a message has come in, the music will get quieter, but Siri won't say anything. Siri's volume is at 50% but she refuses to read my messages. DND is off and I've set it to read messages from everyone. Any ideas?

I’m having the same exact issue here. Can’t figure out how to fix it.

Mine does this. I posted a thread asking about this. It is very annoying, I listen to talk radio all day, the volume spikes really loud, then drops back down and then Siri talks without pausing my SiriusXM app...

This needs to be fixed, I'm sure it will be, but Siri should pause any app using speakers, talk, then restart. It also shouldn't spike the volume right before the announcement.
