"<AppName> sent a long notification. Read it? šŸ˜"
Yes Siri! Read the freaking notification!
Does the setting I enabled in iOS 18 Settings say announce notifications or just announce the ones less than three words long?
Read every damn thing that comes in unless I tell you otherwise!

When I'm out walking, running or cycling with AirPods and unable to look at my iPhone, hearing the smug way Siri says "Read it?" makes my blood boil every time!

What good is telling me I have a notification if you're not going to tell me what it is!
I'd rather not know than be teased and withheld the information!

This feature used to work perfectly until iOS 18, where it would actually read all the notifications coming in and if they were long or I didn't want to hear them I could just pinch the AirPods stem to stop them.

I can't seem to find other posts about this, but I cannot be the only person annoyed by this on a daily basis!
If anyone knows a fix please enlighten me!

Under Settings > Notifications both Scheduled Summary and Summarise Notifications are both turned off if that's what you mean.

It doesn't seem like there's any way to change this behaviour. Perhaps this change was to encourage the use of the new AI summaries.
