So I have my Apple ID added to my home and work Mac. It syncs the contacts via iCloud I believe.

I have removed a contact and I NEED this contact to no longer appear, the contact was removed on my mobile phone which is an iPhone iOS 10.3.3 and also has been removed from the "recents" when you create a new text...

However I can't for the life of me get the contact to "Go" on my home mac which is running 10.12.6 or my work mac which is running 10.11.5

On both machines I've removed and re-added in internet accounts, unticked and re-ticked contacts...Yet this contact still shows if I open the messages app > Plus to start a new message > Type in the first letter.

The contact is NOT on my local contacts app on either machine, local mail app (previous recipients or anything) or even in icloud.com > login with my apple ID > contacts!

Where is it picking this Contact up from! This contact must be removed. Any help massively appreciated

Thanks

Just the messages app. So on the phone if I type the contact name in...it doesn't autofill. I have removed from recents.

However doing this on the messages app on the Mac...it auto completes a contact that no longer exists!

Hi Superspeed, thanks for the responses. Yes no conversations are there with this contact either on the phone or the either of the 2 Macs! its so strange!

Any ideas anyone? It's hugely frustrating and I can't seem to work out why.
It's as if a previous recipient type list or "cache" needs to be cleared for the messages OSX app.

Hi Brian,

There's 3 options:

create new contact
add to existing contact
large type
