Hi,

I'm totally new to the forums and to macs in general. Just got a white 2.0GHz Macbook a few days ago, and the one thing I noticed immediately was that when I leave my Macbook without touching anything for a few seconds, there is a huge lag when I want to activate my cursor again. In fact, even when I leave the touchpad to type for a while, the cursor lags.

I'm currently using the touchpad. What happens is that the cursor onscreen disappears completely for a few seconds and reappears after awhile. Either that or it freezes up where it is despite my movements on the trackpad. It's really annoying since, in the meantime, I'm moving my finger about wildly trying to locate the cursor and get it activated. When it does get activated, my mouse has reached one corner or the other and pulls up Dashboard and the like.

Does anyone else have that problem? Is it normal, or should I get it looked at? I've had a 900MHz Fujitsu laptop for the past 3 years, and never had this problem. I'm not quite sure what to expect.

Any help would be much appreciated!

in system preferences, go to keyboard and mouse. uncheck the "ignore accidental trackpad input".

that should solve your problems.

I've actually tried that out already... it doesn't work. There is still a lag in response time, and (on an unrelated note) it might just be my poor typing posture, but I constantly find myself touching the trackpad as I type and switching windows as a result.
