A religiously oppressed state
I have a MacBook Pro (second rev) running OS 10.4.10 (although this has always happened), and I have my internal microphone set to this volume:

but it keeps resetting itself to this volume:

It's extremely annoying. What can I do to fix this?
 
Which app is this in? That volume is handled by the software you're using the mic in, not by the actual system itself...
 
No I believe that screen shot is in the sounds preferences. I don't know what to tell the OP, if you are saving your preferences. I have no clue what lse you can do.
 
I've had a look, and the level doesn't seem to be stored in a plist file anywhere, so I haven't a clue where it's kept! If we could find out, then we might be able to do something, but until then, sorry! :(
