Annoying problem with applications such as Terminal and Disk Utility.

Whenever I try to launch applications such as Terminal, Disk utility and Keychain Access they open and immediately close a split second after I've opened them. I've checked the system log and it reports;

07/07/2009 22:38:05 Terminal[538] Unable to load nib file: MainMenu, exiting

07/07/2009 22:38:05 Macintosh com.apple.launchd[74] ([0x0-0x68068].com.apple.Terminal[538]): Exited with exit code: 1

I've tried reinstalling Leopard and that hasn't helped. The applications also have a different icon. I have taken a few screenshots of this which are in the links below.

Something wrong with your installation. When you re-installed leopard,how did you do it?

I did a clean reinstall. They were working before. I just booted up my mac one day to find they weren't working.
