Another Awesome Apple Store experience, this time with iPod

I was planning to write on this during my drive home. Cool to see another post on a similar topic.

So, my iPod Photo pauses way, way too easily. Often, if you move the iPod just a tad it pauses. Or try to walk with it. We've sent it in online twice and both times they've returned it without fixing it.

I went in to the Santa Monica, CA Apple Store (I have 3 apple stores within 6 miles. Sorry guys...). I made an appointment at the Genius bar. I was a bit nervous, because sometimes it'll pause at a touch, but othertimes not. I couldn't figure out an exact trigger. So I tell the guy the situation -- that I've sent it in twice. His first reponse: "that really sounds irritating." Yeah! I'm getting ready to demonstrate it for him and he says, "Alright, let's get you a new one." Awesome! He makes jokes about how you aren't supposed to walk with an iPod. I think we have a new one in stock here (even though it is an iPod photo, no longer for sale). 10 minutes later, I was walking out the door with a brand new iPod Photo. Incredibly understanding and cool service.

3??!?! That's obscene. My closest Apple store is several days, and 3 provinces away. Humbug.

In any case, that's great that they were so awesome. I'm surprised they had any iPod photos in stock though, what with the 5G being out for so long now.

I'm having major problems with my iPod Photo. I was just wondering did you have applecare for your iPod or was it still under warranty? If not, that'd be amazing. If it was still under warranty through applecare, I guess what you got what you paid for

I did have apple care.

There is a lot of cool stuff in So Cal. Over at head-fi.com people are jealous because I have places to try on high quality headphones.

my sister lives in los angeles and i'm in sacramento... every time i go down there, i'm jealous of all the cool stuff she gets to play with.
