Another reason to grumble about the inability to remove the battery: never mind not being able to carry a spare, sometimes you need to pull out the battery just to make sure it's off!
With both of my last two phones I've had to pull out the battery to reset it as the power button wouldn't work since the phone had frozen. Given how complex the iPhone is relative to many phones, it's quite possible we'll see hangs/crashes on it too.
Plus, there have been several reported cases of phones switching on during flights (it happened to one of my colleagues on a recent flight from London), and on occasion the passenger has been asked to remove the battery.
Never mind the stories about people's phones being remotely powered up which we've seen over the last couple of months..
