hello.
i managed to get 256 mb of ram into my g3 300 clamshell ( the 512 mb didnt work because it was pc-133, and i am not going to send it to israel from u.s. , so i'll manged with 256 ...)
so , need an advice from anyone who has similar machine. could and how it would work , prefomance speeking , to run tiger on such a machine? i have 320 mb of ram now (256 mb chip + 64 solded on the logic bord)
thankX

Elad.
(btw, panther works just great now)

you don't want tiger on your clamshell.

I run tiger on my G3 iBook 500 (Gen after clamshell) and it barely gets by, with 568 or whatever ram. when the dock is up you can forget about it.

I'd stick with Panther on your clamshell, sometimes restrictions are put there for a reason.

if this has not swayed you, there are ways to cheat the system, but it's super complicated.

google tiger on clamshell, as I'm too lazy to do it now

I would stick with Panther. Don't bother with Tiger. It would very slow even with the 320MB.
