That 1.25h of the battery charge was playing YT videos aloud with speaker. Then a little quick usage. Had a f2f lab meeting, then Zoom meetings starting at 13.30 until 16.00. Then, until 17.30 with MS Word and web usage.

So ... about 6.5 to 7h with 2.5h of Zoom/Meet and and from 100% to 28% or 72% usage.

Looks, like I'll be around 8.5-9.5h with the online meeting and probably 10-12h with web usage and MS Word, etc and contact WiFi.

Not stellar but more than enough for a full day ... probably will hit a full battery cycle per workday, I would imagine.

Has Zoom been optimized for Apple Silicon? If not, then the battery life will likely improve once it is.

Sure Zoom will get better.

I think that curve would hit in around 2.5-2.75h, so yeah, maybe around 10h or so with my real-world usage pattern per battery charge, which is OK by me :D

This is really surreal. I got my M1 MBA at about 5 hours ago and have been doing the usual setup things but switched over to it for work once I started to get apps installed. I've since moved to battery power while working, have continued to install apps, synch things... I can see Photos & Spotlight are doing their indexing things... Battery has barely gone down, there's no fans and the thing is cool to the touch.

end of day down to 10%, when the low battery comes on.

around 9h SOT or so. So, I'll be around 10h most days give or take 30mins or so.

this is probably standard usage nowadays
