I hopefully have what will be a quick answer. I just tried a search and think I've found it but I don't have my computer by my side to check.

Anyway, I'm trying to output the display from my macbook pro to my 52" Sharp Aquos LCD. I have been able to get the display on there via an HDMI/DVI adapter and the display is on the TV fine, in 1080p. The top bar is off the screen but I think that is because it is 1900x1080 instead of 1900x1200. Anyway, I have a bluetooth mouse connected and it is set to wake up with bluetooth devises. The display is mirrored and overscan button selected. My problem is that when I close the lid, the computer goes to sleep.

I think the solution I found is that I don't have the computer plugged in. Again, I don't have it near me to try now but is that really the case? Do you have to have the computer plugged in to run an external display and keep the lid closed with the internal display off?

Your help is much appreciated!!!!

If you read the manual...

... you would know better.

Basically says that when you close the lid you have no normal way to avoid it going to sleep. You have to wake it up using an external keyboard or mouse, but you need to use the power adapter.
