Okay,

I've decided to upgrade my 20" iMac G5 and have been thinking of going with a MB or MBP C2D. By the end of the year I plan to upgrade the RAM in which ever and hookup an external monitor for more screen space. I am going to list what I will be using the laptops for so you guys can base your opinions on which one would be best. I haven't really used the C2D processor and a lot of my apps will probably be running under rosetta.

Web Design using Macromedia Studio (Fireworks, Dreamweaver), Photoshop
CAD Tools, TurboCAD
Lots of iPhoto, iTunes
Quicken
Office, especially entourage, my email program of choice.
Elgato Eye TV hybrid

Just want to know what you guys think.

Thanks,

Todd

I'd say the MacBook would be good for you. Sure the screen is a bit small, but if you plan on hooking it up to an external, I'd go with that. From the software you're running, it doesn't look like you'll need a dedicated GPU, so MacBook Pro may be overkill. I'd wait for the updates though, unless you really need it now. I've got a feeling some pretty cool stuff is coming in the next couple months.
