So every now and then when I put my 17" MBP 2.4 SR to sleep, it won't wake up. I push the power button, but nothing happens and the light thing still pulses. Sometimes, it wakes up after about 20 minutes. Sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't wake up, I just hold the power button and force shut down. When this happens, the computer refuses to power up again. Then, randomly, a few hours or even a day later, it will boot up when I push the power button, and bring me back to where I was when it went to sleep. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Does it happen when you're running from the battery, the wall, or both? Try resetting the SMC for now. 
It only happens when running off the battery, but I just reset the SMC... We'll see if that does the trick. Thanks!

Update: It happened again, so I headed over to Apple's message boards. I eventually found this:

I followed the guide and switched my MBP to the old sleep mode, rather than the newer safe sleep mode. The problem is now 100% fixed.
