Another MS Ad - this time attacking the iPod http://bit.ly/13Gi3z in my eyes, MS are making themselves look really foolish with these Ad's.

Where Microsoft fails with this new Zune Ad: 'One costs a lot and one costs a little'?

But I don't want Microsoft DRM or the Zune player...

This ad is hilarious, and where do they find these actors is there a prerequisite that they must mirror Mr Ballmer's "personality".

the only downside is that you have to buy a zune and use the crappy zune software, other than that i like subscription services.

Do The Maths!

Not that I'm bitter but according to Microsoft each month for $14.99 you get to keep 10 songs you like, so if you cancel your membership, each song would have effectively cost you $1.50.

That in mind to fill the zune up with like for like i.e. the songs you own! it would cost:

iPod = $30,000
Zune = $44,970

So why would I want to pay an extra $14,970 based on their advertisement?

Thanks

"Town"
^^^"lolling" at that btw. Do you seriously not get to keep the songs??? that's ****ing stupid!!! So that's not even REMOTELY a fair comparison. If iTunes lets you keep them and Zune pass doesn't then, then, that's just dumb.

No...you can still buy individual songs off the Zune store. ZunePass just lets you listen to as much as you want when you want, without keeping it. The 10 free songs a month is just a nice freebie.

Therefore if each song is $0.99, then you are effectively paying $5.09 a month for the subscription/ZunePass.

Why does Microsoft always have to mix things around? Just keep it plain and simple.

That may be so, but i'm working this all out with Microsofts logic when it comes to the advert. with your logic the iPod and the Zune would cost the same amount to fill, with the nice option to have as many songs as you like for $5.09 which is still nice.

The ad doesn't mention the 10 free songs you get each month. I wouldn't mind if Apple setup something like this. It is really like having the entire iTunes Music Store library right there on your computer. Keep what you want, and if you feel like a candid hearing of a particular song, there's no need to buy it just to listen to it once.

hold, so this service only lets you keep 10 songs a month, thats bull s***
I thought it was a fully fledged thing where you could download as many as you like and keep them.
If I wanted to just listen go the free route and get spotify.
My god M$, this is funny

These ads creep me out. Can't stand them.

They make as much sense as MS old slogen ("Life without walls") - why would we need Windows? :)
