I've been meaning to post this sooner, but the busy-ness of life got in the way. Four weeks ago, I took delivery of my second iMac. This one's a i7, and as I expected it to be, it's absolutely perfect. No yellowing, bad pixels on the screen or camera, backlight bleeding, high-pitch noise, or any other problem that's so commonly reported on here. And believe me, being a professional photographer, I went through it with a fine-toothed comb.

Simply put, another perfect machine!

Congrats and thank you for sharing. I've ordered an iMac i7 this Monday with fingers crossed on quality issues, but your post made me felt more confident in receiving a non-defect iMac. :)

Mine is being delivered today :) Cannot wait to get home from work!
Its great news yours is perfect! I hope mine will be too

Thanks for sharing

Congrats! :) This must feel great given the forthcoming photography work on it!

I'm in your boat (photography stuff), so the QA problems with the display has me worried. I don't care about that it doesn't do Adobe RGB and details like that, but if a tinge makes it look like photos are incorrectly white balanced, there's a problem.

The all-in-one construction of the iMac is a perfect ideological fit for the iOS platform.

I received mine from Apple in Ireland a month ago. I've had no problems what so ever. I had problems with my Cinema Display 23" a few years ago with a pink tint all over the screen, and I was a bit worried about giving in for a new Apple product again. But the the temptation of having an iMac i7 on my desktop was just overwhelming. Now I'm really happy and I'm still amazed my the quality and design of this product!

Good 2 hear, Bryan. The problem with a board like this one is that the vast majority of posts are negative. It's good to see a positive one once in a while. Anyone reading this thread who is considering buying their first Mac should keep in mind that many people don't post at all if their iMac is perfect ;). I have owned two Apple computers (both iMacs) and both have been perfect. I started out with Windows and OSX installed on my first iMac, but after 6 months I recognised what a superior system an Apple is and Windows is now long in the past....
Enjoy...

Rich

I agree. I use forums to solve my problems, so its right to expect to rear all the scare stories and problems people are having.

My imac is perfect also, there you go, there another one. :)

im crossing my fingers now in hopes that my replacement is perfect you have given me hope :D:apple:

Can confirm that I received a perfect 27" iMac. Checked the screen using image on another thread all fine, no hummer noise etc :)

Very happy here :)

Supposedly, the new 27" ACD uses the same screen as the iMac, and, so far, the ACD screen user comments have been positive. Maybe, the 27" screen quality has been improved for the ACD. There is competition in the 27" screen market.

Had my lowly i3 iMac for about a month, it honestly the best hardware I've ever used. only issue I've had is when trying to back up iTunes from a disk - but its been a pleausre since

Congrats! The i7 processors run brilliantly!

Best wishes to all,
