I am a web developer and I've been a hard-core mac user my entire life (yeah.. i'm only 19). My company is moving from ASP to ASP.NET and I've found all the major .NET applications are windows only. It was already a pain in the ass not having stuff like Enterprise to access MS SQL servers, but now things are really going to suck. Steve, if you're listening, get me some .NET software.

.Net and ASP.Net are noe one and the same. There is a pretty good chance that .Net will be available on OSX via the Mono project. ASP.Net is not included in this effort (and neither is VB.Net).
JSP/Servlets are used in many enterprise applications for web applications and are portbale across OSs and container implementations which is important for a lot of us as it means we are not tied into 1 vendor. Enterprise customers like this as they cannot get price gouged and if the vedor goes out of business you can just switch to another vendor.

Actuallly, I'd talk to Bill, not Steve, as it is he creating this "shorfall" with his proprietary software - and not releasing it for Mac yet.
And yes, it should be coming anyway.

and who wants to use the evil ,NET anyways..... especially when your a mac guy... and especially ASP. i'm more of a Java man myself so I'd go for JSP, but thats just me. The whole point of .NET seems to be that it's ms windows only so that it forces peopel to buy M$ if all the important web services use it...one of the reasons why I wont touch it, even though there seems to be a few jobs in asp.net at the mo....but then again, i just pretty much don't like ms.

If you try to develop microsoft centric websites they will be violating accessibility rules for the web. You want the web to be accessible to all, don't you? A website is a marketing tool, and a marketing tool is only as good as the market it serves. If it isn't broad enough, not enough people will buy it. Diversify and make all your web projects platform independent. If your company can't see the advantage to doing that, they are blind, and you should resign their work. Secondly, working with Microsoft only software makes you a lot more vulnerable to PC viruses and hacker attacks. Macs are much less vulnerable.
