So today I went out and bought the Sims 3 PC/Mac edition from the local GameStop . It only came out today here in Ireland, and it's been out since the 3rd I believe in America.

So I installed it on my Baseline Unibody Macbook and it runs great, however, the PC user in my house asked if they could install it on their PC too, so I let them.

I then went looking for a way to play the Sims 3 on my mac without needing the CD so that we wouldn't have to keep swapping each time we wanted to play, and I came across a replacement for the .plist file in the game's package contents, and downloaded and replaced it.

This is where things went wrong, I went to play the game, but it quit immediately at launch , so I went to look inside the .plist file and apparently it's only for an illegal cracked version of the game, and it won't work with a retail copy!

So, I thought "no big deal" and went to restore it from my trash. I had emptied it about 60 seconds prior.

So I'm wondering, if there are any kind-hearted people out there who also bought the retail copy, if they would please share with me their info.plist file in /Applications/The Sims 3/The Sims 3.app and then showing package contents. The info.plist file is in the contents folder there. ;)

I would be ever grateful if you could help me out, either by uploading it, attaching it here or even just telling me what is written in the info.plist file so that I can make a new one. :(

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies, you'll be my saviour! :D

It's the hassle of deleting the game, and my saved games, and then reinstalling it.

Plus, I think you can only install it 5 times ever because of SecuROM - I don't want to waste one if possible,

Thanks though!

Plus, you don't have to lose your saved games; just move them to another directory and then back. The game installs pretty quickly, so you should be done in less than 10 mins.

I'm just asking for 10 lines of text!

I'd rather just put a text file in a folder than reinstall, but thanks for everything, and the clarification of the SecuROM system. ;)

Did it work?

Because I was wondering if I might be able to make The Sims 3 run on my OS X 10.4.11.

Some time ago I installed a game called World of Goo which were supposed to only
work with Leopard 10.5 or higher. Then I changed some info in the info.plist file and were
able to run the game.
I thought that it might work with The Sims 3 too, if I change this info in the tginstall.plist file to 10.4.11:

<key>MinimumSystemVersion</key>
<string>10.5.3</string>

I tried to change it but I couldn't save the document. How will I be able to change the info and save it?
