Stopped by Apple Store today to get a new Apple Pencil...and checked out Classic Buckle...this time Storm Gray.

The gray color changes tone quite a bit depending on lighting.

Looks almost black in some lighting as you stated but i know that may be camera processing as well.

This is the one I want the most of the new classic leather bands but I havent been able to see it in person as none of my apple stores have had it. Thanks for the pics.

Looks like it would match the SS SB. It would be an instabuy for me if the lug came in black.

This is my common go to line whenever I see most bands that I like unfortunately. Love my SS SB but doesn't have the versatility of the SS model that I enjoyed.

I actually think it's at least as versatile as the SS if just Apple would let us buy it with the black adapters.

Looks great. Are you happy with your pencil too?

Yes, with the right screwdriver. Hexa screwdriver or something like that. I bought one from amazon. But i recommend using Locktite when screwing the screws.

I went to look at the storm grey classic buckle and I don't see how you can remove the strap from the connecting lug without breaking the original lug. Could not visibly see such a screw. Am I missing something here?

Hmmm, need to check again...i thought that i saw screws on the inside of the lug connector.

No, there are screws i am pretty sure after looking around the net:

See where the loop connector attaches to the lug connector...two screws. (This is the old classic buckle, but new one is the same i believe.)

And here is video of 2nd gen CB: (start 2:00)...and you can see the screws:

Apple does not recommend reusing the screws just so you know. You will need the correct specialized screwdriver to remove the band from the supplied adapter and to attach the band to the new adapter. Apple also lists a particular Loctite threadlocker to secure the screws to the adapter.
[doublepost=1462568309][/doublepost]So Thai did you buy the band or just try it on at this point? This color has been top on my classic leather band wishlist. May wait until fall to buy since we get in the 90s-100s during the summer. I'm also waiting to see it in a store and plan to wear my classic black band when I go in for comparison. It does look really dark in some of the photos. Thanks for posting them.

Yes, Loctite is a MUST.

No, i did not buy it. I am waiting for ALIVECOR band to come out (awaiting FDA approval). If that band is a no go, then i plan to get CB Saddle Brown.

Yes, the gray changes color quite significantly with different lighting. It looks quite different from under the apple store lights and then under shade (putting your hand over it to cover the overhead lights). You have to see one in person unfortunately to see what i mean.

Went to the online store to buy the Red and Storm Gray Classic Buckles and they are both Unavailable. I wonder if they're just out of stock or maybe something related to the next Apple Watch?

I don't know. It looks like there might be an option to select delivery to the store. But that doesn't make sense that you can't get it delivered to your home and you can't get it at the store when you pop by, but you can get it delivered to the store if you order online. I'm not fighting traffic in this heatwave to go to a mall that's already had one fatal shooting when it was cool weather. People around here are crazy under the best of circumstances, I don't want to put up with them in 90 degree heat. And I'm recovering from surgery and not inclined to drive very far. Forget that.

I so badly wanted 38 mm marine blue for myself and storm gray for my husband, but I didn't ever see the 38 mm marine blue become available either in the store or online store on the occasions that I checked. I think marine blue 38 mm was available shortly after release but I couldn't get it then; I was going to wait for Mother's Day so my family would have an easy gift to get me.

My husband's black classic buckle that originally came with his wast have is badly fraying at the ends and edges. I wonder if there are quality control issues they are running into or manufacturing problems. Since the very release of the Apple Watch it was impossible to get the leather bands I wanted in the colors I wanted when I wanted. So I focused on collecting Sport bands instead. I'd like at least one leather band in my color choice but I guess that's not going to happen.
