I wonder if the back scratches easily. Even if its kinda scratch-safe, im not sure where to put it around the house. A small blanket pherhaps, on a small altar? :)

From the pictures it looks like its something that won't scratch unless you really try hard. My ipod with its shiny metal scratched easily. I don't think that is the case with the iPad. It looks like the same material as the Apple Laptops.

IF you were to get one - can either sand it down finely, or scratch it up, and give the back a brushed metal look. I'd imagine a few will use covers - will help with spills, drops, scratches, bumps, along with standing it to view video etc.

Yeah it remains to be seen. I might get a back cover like the one i have on my iphone. I feel ipad as a product need total and unrestricted putdownability, just like the iphone.

lol. "Putdownability".

My goal is to have a dock in the room that it will be used the most and a small sleeve for other places.
