Well, as the title suggests I'm thinking about cancelling or should I say not renewing my MobileMe subscription when its in October and moving to Gmail. I've had the membership since 2001 and as a result nearly every website I'm registered to (including MR) has my @mac/@me address on file.

I know undertaking the boring task of visiting every website and changing my registered email address to my Gmail addy isn't going to fun but there isn't any easier way... is there?

I only use MobileMe for the email and keeping my contacts in sync with my iPhone etc - which Gmail offers anyway. I use Xmarks/Fruux/Dropbox to keep everything else in sync. Would I missing out on something crucial by leaving MobileMe? I can't justify spending money for something when I can get it all for free elsewhere.

What do you guys think?

I'm thinking your issue has been discussed/debated in the previous threads and you should look there for answers to a question you can only ultimately answer for yourself.

I went through about 6 months ago and forwarded all my moblieMe to gmail. any email that i got what was tagged @mac.com or me.com I went and changed that sites registered email address, or unsubscribed if i didn't want to hear form them at all.

It left me with a totally clean MobileMe inbox that I an now start from scratch on. I am doing the same with my @live acct now so that leaves my gmail getting only email/new letters that I WANT, and I now have 99% fresh @mac/Live email inboxes.

Think I may use @mac for my professional stuff and @live for friends.
