Hello, I'm new to this internet site. I registered to see if I could have the answer to my problem suggested at here. To put it as simply as possible, TFT worked great on Tiger, then I upgraded my old iMac to Leopard with TFT still installed, some weird sound problem surfaced while playing Dota so I reinstalled TFT, and ever since then when I try to start up TFT with the disk in (so I can get the no-CD patch) it crashes. I am aware that an answer to the problem has already been suggested at in other threads, but I feel it was insufficiently answered (mainly because it hasn't really worked in my case). Any help with my specific TFT problem (which I'm sure is not a single occurrence) will be deeply appreciated.

Try this

If I were you I would just uninstall the program and then go and trash the preference files. They are located in /users/yourusername/libraray/prefrences. Or get appzapper to do it for you. Then reinstall the game and download the latest patch and install it before you run the game. The newest version of the game actually doesn't require the CD in your iMac to play it.

Good luck!

Up to the point that I am typing this, I have found the correct ~/Library/Preferences folder located under my username (before that I had checked Macintosh HD/Library/Preferences to find it empty of any files pertaining to TFT :/), have deleted all of the files pertaining to TFT, and have started the installation process for RoC. So basically from what I was able to surmise, the problem that exists is that my computer had created preference files for Tiger, and when I upgraded to Leopard it tried to use those Tiger preference files for Leopard, and couldn't, so TFT couldn't run?

OMGX IT WORKX!!!! THXU!!!! Deleting the preference files did the trick. Feel free to join me in a Dota game sometime :) I'll be playing under Lethologica on US West.

(I accidentally doubleposted and don't know how to delete a post)

One small problem, however. :/ The same sound problem is there that made me uninstall in the first place, and it is worse than before. Say if I'm playing Dota, when my window is near a treant hitting a ghoul, i'll hear some random slicing noises which are much louder than normal. This happens with all other sounds, of course. Random meatwagon splashes much louder than normal, etc. It is obvious this is a bug, and if I could be suggested towards a solution to this problem, too, then I would be indebted.

I had the same problem, i gotta make sure i go to my name first :)
