Hi guys, i'm fairly new to the os x g4 scene, my only previous experience of powerPC's is my family's first PC (iMac g3 rev a) this I still have to this day, however this is still on os9.

I love this powerbook g4 with the 17". its a fairly good spec as well being the 1GHZ model and id love to get more use out of it however i'm finding it hard to get things like an anti virus, dose anyone know of one that might still work on OSX 10.5.8?

Also dose anyone have any further suggestions of apps to make my power book more usable for day to day tasks? obviously i've read the new member suggestions and already have tenfourfox installed!

I never ran any anti-virus on my PowerMacs.

I don’t think you need to, either. Others may have differing advice.

Follow all the tips about internet security offered here, for certain.

Don't bother with anti-virus, especially on PowerPC. Complete waste of time and system resources. OS X is not like Windows.

Just don't go to any obviously dangerous sites or links, and don't download an old version of MacKeeper.

You're fine.

Get Leopard Webkit (Safari 11), QuickTime 7.7, and SMTube or TenFiveTube (for youtube). They will make your web experience tolerable. All can be found searching this forum.
