Antiglare film for the MBP

hey guys, after reading countless threads and articles on the MBP glossy vs matte debate, i decided to go with the glossy in the end. my mbp is coming on tuesday (words cannot express how excited i am) but if the reflections on the screen start to bother me, i wanted to know if there was another route. so i did some researching and found this -> http://www.powersupportusa.com/produ...hp?category=pb
has anyone tried some sort of product like this out? If so, I'd like to know how well it works and if it still keeps the same crispness and color of the original glossy screen. thanks guys!

Anyway the Powerbook's screen dimensions are not the same as the MacBook Pro's. I don't think a third party addon will work as well as what the machines originally come with too...

it's not that I don't want the glossy, because i've seen it before and I dont like the dull look of matte, I just wanted to see if this could be an alternative if I DO get bothered by the glare, which might not even be a problem. All I wanted to do is ask for some opinions on a product, not people telling me I should have bought something else

There is not very much glare on my glossy MBP no matter where i am.

I have to say that if something reflects on a glossy screen, it will also reflect on a matte screen. Let's say for example you are working outside. The sun is shining directly onto your screen. With a glossy, you would see a very small (but intense) beam of light reflecting off the screen. With matte, there would be a much larger but slightly less bright reflection. Both are equally bad. There is really no difference there. They way I see it, if you need accurate color, go matte, and if you like to see more vivid color, go glossy. Both are equally bad in terms of reflection.

Erm I don't think it is really what you think it is.

If you look at the picture you will see that the flim is shiny and reflective. It is pretty much the same "filters" that we oldies affix in front of our CRT monitors back in the day to block out UV and reduces the brightness of the screen.

Not really. The reflection from a matte screen is defused and hence much less distracting.

I know, it is more diffuse, therefore it covers half the screen. I know, I am outside right now with my 15" dell matte laptop. the sun's reflection covers most of the screen. Basically, you just cannot computer in the sun.

Well that is not really a legit comparison, you can always sit on another chair around the table and be back in business. However if you are using a glossy screen the light that is reflected off you from the sun into the screen is so intense that all you will see is your own mug.
