I just bought a 14 Plus to see if the weight savings made a difference for in-hand comfort compared to the 14PM (it definitely does for me.)
However, I noticed that there is a small wrinkle in the OLED panel, under the glass, that doesn't look right. At first I thought it was something on the screen protector or glass, but it seems to be the actual panel.

I don't notice it much when using the phone in the daylight, but at night content or words in that area look slightly different. It's not a big deal to me, but was curious to see if this is a one-off or more widespread, and if I should take it to Apple to see if they'd swap it out.

In the attached image, if you draw a horizontal line to the right from the selfie camera, it's right by the edge of the light reflection.

Thanks for your help/opinions!

You should exchange it to Apple... that looks very noticeable and could be a nuisance for multiple years :(
(I just hope it's in the return window.)

Just a quick update, the Apple rep took one look at the screen and replaced the phone. New one has zero issues. Thanks for the help!
Glad they helped! I've had a past new iPhone with small mark or chip during manufacturing and Apple always was quick to replace, no questions asked within the 14 day window.

Main reason why I will always (and only) buy from Apple directly!

It's hard to make out in the photo but I see what you're talking about. I had something similar on an Apple Watch years ago. I returned it no problem and the replacement was fine. Having said that, I expect most people won't notice this kind of thing, but MacRumors Forum users aren't most people hah.

How hard was the exchange process at apple? I’m thinking of swapping my 14 PM for a Pro.

It probably depends on where you're located. I am in the US, in California, so Apple Stores are everywhere. If you are just swapping phone during the return window for a different size, I don't think you even need an appointment.

In my case, since I was sharing what I considered a defect, I made a genius bar appointment just in case a tech needed to say yay or nay. Had they said nay I would have just returned the phone given we're so close to the 15's launch.
