I looked through the usual list of iPhone case makers (e.g., Speck, Otterbox, Incipio) and none mentions MagSafe compatibility. I presume MagSafe attachments will just work, at least on thinner cases?

This puts me at a quandary. I almost always buy a case that protects the screen like Apple's Leather Folio case. No such case is announced this time around, except for the Leather Sleeve which looks too tedious to use.

So I am more or less forced to get a non-MagSafe certified 3rd party case and take the risk (e.g., Otterbox Strada).

Apple (probably) didn't give any manufacturers a heads up about MagSafe. So it may be awhile before 3rd party MagSafe compatible cases are available.

There are some Otterbox ones that are MagSafe compatible on Apple now as well as their own site.

I Found this today.

They don't actually use MagSafe in the advertising but they do in the Q&A.

compatible with both
I just looked at their website again and they must have updated it. Now it says right on there "This MagEZ Case is compatible with MagSafe® System, and works with both MagSafe® Wallet and MagSafe® Charger." So this is awesome.
