Tried jailbreaking my iphone numourous times tonight but no luck. I followed the sites listed below to get my iphone 3G to the 3.0 software and then the instructions to actually jailbreak the iphone. However, when it get to the 'finish' part on the Redsn0w software i have a picture of a hard-drive on my iphone with a loading sign at the bottom and then after about 10 mintues it just goes black and displays the image of the usb lead.
Does anyone have any ideas what im doing wrong or can points me in the right direction. Help would be much appreciated i really want to jailbreak soon!

Just follow this (it's for Windows). If it doesn't work the first time try again. It took me 6 times to get Redsn0w to work, but it did do in the end.

Or if you want to Jailbreak 3.1 (you said 3.0, but anyway) you need a custom IPSW file, which only Macs can make by using PwnageTool. Or you can find a download to one.

It is very simple to JB to 3.0 with 3G, and tens of thousands of us have done it over an over without issues.

No Mac is needed.

What is needed for 1st timers is to get a tutorial (already suggested) read it over, top to bottom before starting, then follow it word for word slowly and carefully.
