I have an old iPad 2 which I never updated from iOS 8.x all of a sudden, years ago, I realised that ebooks sync from Books on the Mac to iPad quit work and all of my books were gone, had to recover them and rename, a nightmare!

I am looking for an alternative reader with a good lasting battery and compatibility with a Mac so I can easily upload the files to it, any suggestion?

Thank you

Giovanni

For PDF, best choice is still a tablet of some sort. I have 6-7” e-ink readers (Amazon and Kobo) and they leave a lot to be desired when dealing with PDF.

Only iOS devices can sync with the Books app for Mac. Third party reading apps such as Marvin and MapleRead allows transfer from a variety of sources. I typically use Calibre Server or Dropbox to load books on Marvin.

On Android, I like using Moon+ Reader. I just copy/paste my books to microSD card.

The issue here is that my iPad still got iOS8x and the books library disappeared, now am gonna try on another computer to load some books and find out if the iPad syncs but won't know how to do that, back then it was through iTunes
