Hello Apple & Mac friends.

After experiencing the joys of the apps for more than a decade, from entertainment, like games to productivity, I've "nuked" the iPhone, erased all the data and for good measure restored to the latest iOS so I can have more focus on an immediately goal (make the phone respond fast as well without a lot of pages of apps to scroll through) to move on to the short term goal in a very efficient and focused, no distraction way and want to make the smartphone, for now, into a kind of dumbphone or simplephone or it can be called, perhaps - a focusedphone.

Is there an app or an Apple way to just restore just the Contacts and the SMS so it's as focused as possible to achieving the goal (the immediate goal).

Thank you. Have a joyful and blessed weekend.

I can’t say for sure about SMS but if you start your iPhone as a new phone like not restoring it from any back up it will show the contacts from iCloud.

At least this get you halfway there. I know there’s a way to sync iMessage to iCloud but I don’t know if that would just show your complete iMessage history on a new phone. I really doubt it would show any SMS but if someone else knows different.
