Is there anything out there so that you can create folders to put certain apps in so you can condense your home screen into one?

Like a 'Games' folder, and a 'Utilities' folder ETC...

Thanks.

I don't think there's an ap like this but I would definitly want something like it. I have so many apps it's a mess, and trying to organize them is a hugh pain in the balls.

Unfortunatley not. Third party applications are not allowed to play out of their confined sandbox,
and what you are asking, would definitely see an app playing outside it's sandbox. Way outside.

The only way for this to happen is if Apple build it into iPhone OS. Themselves.
Which is unlikely, but not impossible.

Why unlikely? I really need a way to organize apps.

I just wish they'd come up with an easier way to sort and move around the app icons... I'd love a way to do that in iTunes or on the computer in general instead of dragging the icons around on the phone and half the time it not registering properly and knocking one off the page I'm just trying to pass over so I have even more moving to do...

apple needs to give us folders and allow us to move groups of apps at one time

I currently use the awesome blank space created by http://blankspace.zendfree.com/ then click + and select "Add to Home Screen" then I type in GAMES or UTILITIES and put the labeled blank space in front of all my games. Each of my sections except for the 1st page has one of these labeled blank spots.

Works for me hope it can help those that want it.
Good Luck

With so many apps (148 is the total number of apps an iPhone can hold), that is a great idea - I would buy one! Another poster suggested an app to find apps (sort of like google) , with over 10,000 apps available, the find, search, organize, etc process is getting very cumbersome.

Unfortunately that blankspace.zendfree.com link no longer works. I was able to get three "blank" icons this way, and I still have them on my phone -- but I wish I had gotten even more of them when I had a chance.

Does anyone know if anything else does something similar?

There has been rumblings around Apple that they will indeed have app organization in a future update. I honestly don't think it will happen until the new iPhone comes out and that all points to June next year if they hold true to their pattern.
From what I have been told... there will be a new "Apps" icon that functions similar to iPod. Within it you will be able to choose Category, Alphabetical, Recently Used, and lastly Favorites. You can also still add -shortcuts- off any app to the desktop if you should want to.
Apple has been well aware of this issue, since so many apps are available, and is working to appease the masses. All major OS changes take time and testing... and this is a major one.
So please be patient and it will arrive sooner than later.

Categories on Cydia does this.

I have 99 apps on my phone, and use a single screen. The daily use apps and messenger apps with Push get icon space, and all others are in folders.

Unfortunately, it does not work so great. There's no way to add the black "breaker" icon without any text in the title. :(

Yeah there is... It just takes a couple of tries. I think the trick is to hit the "+" button before the final page loads completely. Then click "Add" right away. It does work but like I said, there's a little getting used to it. Good luck!

Yeah I was trying to use it as well and got frustrated... I actually made my own version which gives you a completely black icon (no text). Here it is if you want to use it: iPhone Blank Home Screen Icon. I hope it helps!
