Any Apple photos RAW plugins that compete with Lightroom?
Luminar by MacPhun.
Wow that looks amazing thanks. The AI processing seems to be like a one slider editing solution in itself.
Can't see any info on the Apple Photos plugin or how it works but it does list it in the specs.
Not all of these do everything that Lightroom can do, but worth taking a look and seeing if they work for your use cases: -

Raw power I've been trying to find that. That's the ex aperture Devi app I think.
I wish apple would just make a decent DAM.
Yep, RAW Power is the one by the ex-Aperture guru. Which is just interesting in itself. If you wanna see an interesting interview with its developer (THE Gentleman Coder?), try this:
Unfortunately, while the editing-adjusting plugins are quite good, the organization-type extensions don't exist. There's absolutely nothing that can do some of the more sophisticated metadata manipulation that Lr can do. There are some extensions that allow sharing, but they aren't nearly what Lr's publishing can do. But maybe you only need the adjusting stuff.
Yeah, I doubt there will be extensions that introduce that sort of functionality into Photos. Maybe the application will itself evolve to include them, but I kinda doubt it. You can, however, put images into any folders you want by using Photos in referenced mode; just turn off the "copy into" pref. But then that means you can't use that library with iCloud Photo Library, one of the big features of Photos. And even though you can reference images, it's a pain to move them later, or even just delete them. Some of the stuff that lightroom does that has become essential is stuff like :
- folder organisation and ability to place files where you want
- ability to copy and paste development settings to a whole group of photos (I don't think anything - else can do this and its a deal breaker not to have it)
- selective colour adjustments : luminance, saturation
