You should add a running total to your site - so whats the official count at?
oh gosh, i'm sorry, that's not my site.
Unless there is a huge update tomorrow it doesn't look like they are going to hit their target which is a little dissappointing, have to think they should have been able to know if it was feasible before advertising it.
And he did promise 1000 rentals, not rentals and purchases combined.
Now did he actually promise 1000, or just say "we're going to have 1000 titles available"? I think there's a difference.

New Apple TV Software Lets You Rent Movies Directly from Your Widescreen TV
MACWORLD SAN FRANCISCO—January 15, 2008—Apple® today announced iTunes® Movie Rentals featuring movies from all the major movie studios including 20th Century Fox, The Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros., Paramount, Universal Studios Home Entertainment, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Lionsgate and New Line Cinema. Users can rent movies for as low as $2.99 and watch them on their Macs or PCs, all current generation iPods*, iPhone™ and Apple TV®. iTunes Movie Rentals launches today and will offer over 1,000 titles by the end of February, including over 100 titles in stunning high definition video with 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound which users can rent directly from their widescreen TV using Apple TV. iTunes Movie Rentals are priced at $2.99 for library titles and $3.99 for new releases, and high definition versions are just one dollar more with library titles at $3.99 and new releases at $4.99.
If you launch iTunes and go to the movies area, you can do a power search for only movies that are available as rentals. When I do this, I get a total of 399 movies that can be rented. That's not even close to the promised 1000.
Interesting - I just ran the query and it's showing 406 now... I guess they are constantly adding.
I'm also guessing Mr. Jobs is thankful it's a leapyear - maybe they'll manage to get 600 loaded by midnight tomorrow!![]()
