Will you pay an extra cost for a modern water resistance that not kill the design?

I like, i love the 6th gen iPod Touch, but there is one big problem with it: it has no IP68 as same as any other devices by Apple. Is any chance, is it possible in the future, that they think of me? I would like Apple-devices with IP67 / IP68 since the first iTouch...

I thought that the watch is the only one with actual specified water resistance, namely IPX7 which is just splash resistance as swimming and showering is not supported. Where does the phone list water resistance, aside from the speculation based on teardowns?

I doubt that the iPod will be waterproof before the iPhone is, as the iPhone is their flagship product. Either way, the iPod shares the design of the iPhone, so if they make one waterproof then they can make the other waterproof as well.

With the release of the 4" SE, there will be no more ipod touch updates for a couple of years at least.

Many people have bought iPod Touch before an iPhone for the children. It is an introduction to iOS with fewer risks. I think cruisin has right: iPod Touch won't be waterproof before the iPhone, but that's not good. Especially would be important the waterproofness at a device that is for children primarily. (Another question, that not children could enjoy its benefits only.)

inscrewtable: I hope there will be a new Touch already in the coming year. Everything depends on the pricing; if they may have profit on a new iPod...
