I would buy one if they made it in a 4:3 screen with a 14" size, like the iBooks......my iBook is gonna die one day.......lol.....after what it has been through

I can't STAND the 16:9 screen. all my picts are perfect with the 4:3 ratio.....all that new screen does it chop them or distort them.

everything is widescreen these days. the chances of you getting a 14" with 4:3 aspect ratio? "outlook not so good." sorry, i didn't have the heart to mislead you with, "ask again later." :)

Something I've never understood, why 16:10 screens, but make movies 16:9

I don't get it!

movies aren't shot in 16:9; television (hd) is. the ratio for movies is much higher, closer to 2.4:1. the reason widescreen computer displays are 16:10 is that it is the ratio to display two full pages of text side by side.

14 inch, not a chance. There were rumblings of a fifteen incher a few months back, though.

I reckon they were the rumblings of a few wishful thinkers.

A 4:3 14" MacBook would be a little narrower (left to right), but a lot longer (front to back) than the current 13.3" model. It wouldn't fit comfortably into their lineup.

4:3 is dead. However, I do think there is a place for a larger, consumer priced, notebook in Apple's lineup.

But, I guess Apple probably knows about this than I. I suppose if the 14 inch iBook were a huge seller, there would probably be a 15 inch Macbook.

Buy a Windows laptop, I use a HP NC4400, works lovely. There's a way to put OSX on any other computer as well.
