Any Chance Of A Santa Rosa-based Mac Mini?

Hopefully sometime soon? I'd love to get a Mac Mini -- it'll be the first Mac I've even touched since System 7 -- but I'm not thrilled about the GMA 950 graphics chipset and would gladly throw down even two or three bills more for something graphically stouter in that svelte little package.

Anyone care to guess at the odds of such a little beauty showing up anytime soon?

I'd imagine by the end of the year, possibly, but then again it hasn't been updated in a long time. No Core 2 Duo even. Don't hold your breath, but it seems reasonable to assume there will be SOME kind of update before the year is out.

Eventually, it's the next mobile platform from Intel.

Logic would suggest that it would be the last to switch to Santa Rosa, as it the bottom of the line.

But its certainly due an upgrade. More likely to Core 2 Duo. I think apple will keep the MacBooks and Mac Mini on Core 2 Duo until the end of the year.

I think it will be updated in October to SR along with the other desktops.

Don't think it will happen in June as it is a developers conference and the mini has no place there. I struggle to see why apple would update it to the C2D when (hopefully) they are in the process testing all their other computers with SR for an October release (or June for the MBP.)
