Just received my M1 Mini (8GB, 256GB SSD) and I have been busy performing benchmarks for tasks that I do. I have to say I am very impressed as this system has outperformed every existing Mac I have at those tasks (though they are older Macs). It even outpaces my 2012 Mac Pro (6 core, 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD, D300 graphics) on those tasks.

As I am not a graphics user GPU power hasn't really been a concern of mine. The M1 systems seem to have very capable integrated graphics. Does anyone know how it stacks up to the "integrated" graphics of the 2013 Mac Pro? I assume it puts the D300 systems to shame but that's just a guess. Anyone perform any benchmarks? Anyone know of any benchmarks I could review? I am thinking maybe I should retire the Mac Pro for the Mini.

Any feedback would be welcome.

put it this way . my base MBA thrashed my 2015 MBP i7 16gb ram and r9 370x AMD graphics card. so I assume it will be the same against yours. Once id tested it against the discrete graphics I didn't even bother with the integrated Intel one!

How does an R9 370x stack up against the D500/D700 graphics in the 2013 MP?

Thanks Mark. Not sure what to make of that information but I am left with the impression the D500 may be similar in performance to the M1 integrated graphics. Since the 2013 Mac Pro has been replaced by the 2019 Mac Pro I am not expecting many reviews between the 2013 MP and the M1 systems.

I'll be testing my M1 Mac Mini/16gb when it arrives this week against my 2013 Mac Pro base model to see if it can accomplish all the same tasks at least equally or more. Encoding in Final Cut, Premiere and Resolve plus large photoshop files and large sites in Rapidweaver.
