I picked up an Apple iPad dock a few days ago & summarily returned it yesterday. 1) It's not that easy to side the iPad onto and 2) won't accommodate even a thin TPU or silicone skin.

I really would like a dock though that I can just drop my iPad onto when not in use. It needs a "home." So anyone know of a more "universal" dock on the way that might be more forgiving of a skin? I'm kind of surprised Apple didn't design it's dock so that the back could slide out to various widths to allow for syncing w/ a case on.

I am sooooo looking for this type item as well!
I have an email into a site that I ordered several docks for our iPhones that are really nice asking if they have any plans to make one for the iPad. I have not been able to find anything that even comes close.
The site, in case you are interested is made2dock.com.
If you do find something, please post back and I will as well.
GOOD LUCK!

Yep - would buy if it does both landscape and portrait while in apple case.
