The tech bloggers have become more than useless in the past few days. All they talk about is how expensive the new iPhones are, and none of them (that I read) delve deeper into examining the A12 itself. They are just a parody.

Other than the 7nm part, what else do we know about this thing? How is it different than the A11? Is it just a reduction in die size (eg. like Intel's "tick" cycle)? Of is there something more?

We already see Apple skipping the A11X for iPads. I wonder why.

Reduction in size, many more transistors, much faster neural engine and graphics unit. I'm wondering if it also has more cache built-in as well.

Those are just generalization on any yearly new Ax chip. The key is in the details. In the past, we have tech blogs putting quite an attention on the Ax, but now, they all just whine about the price (while recommending a $1k Samsung as cheaper )

Maybe AnandTech will break it down for us...
