I am going to be buying myself a 12 in ibook soon. Should I be buying one at an Apple Store, amazon.com with a $100 rebate, or a refurb 12 in 1.33 Ghz(current model) from the Appl refurb store. I like the idea of a new one for $100 less than Apple from amazon.com, but even $200 cheaper from Apple is a current model refurb ibook. Im afraid it was returned due to technical problems and is a little dirty bc it is white. I fear it had problems bc people dont normally return a laptop for no reason. Would you reccomend I get a refurb or spend an extra $100(which i can) on a new one. Id love to save money so theres no way im buyin one directly from apple considering i get the SAME EXACT product from amazon for cheaper, i would just like to know if its safer buying a new, no refurbished onw.

I would get the new one from amazon.com. At amazon, you don't have to pay tax, but on apple.com you will. Also, you get the original box and everything when buying it new compaired to the plain brown apple refurb box.

Really, you dont pay tax!!!!! That is so great knowing I can get a brand new iBook for exactly 900! Thank you so much! I will definitely buy mine from amazon because there are no advantages buying from an apple retail store over buying on amazon.com. The only difference is the price. One question though. If I buy from amazon.com, does this mean i am getting the same exact box as from the apple store bc i want all the little things that come with the ibook.
