Is there any way to get the windows partition to hide, or unmount on boot that is simple to do? I tried doing some XML file in some folder, but it didnt do jack squat!

Thanks in advance :)

Before, I tried the Disk Utility way by unmounting the volume. But it reappears upon a Restart/Shutdown & Start.

So if anyone knows how to do this, I would be very interested.

You cant rename it via OSX, its read only. And I dont think it will read the name you give it in windows either :\

This Might Help

Hi,

I had a similar problem and posted on another forum. A good smaritan helped me to find a solution and it turned out to be really simple!:)
Do this - Make an alias of your mac hard drive icon on the desktop (do it by right-click or control-click on the Icon and choose "Make Alias" from the drop down menu). Then, go to Finder menu and under Prefrences -> go to "General" tab and uncheck the box for "Hard Disks" under "Show these items on Desktop". You would still have the alias on the desktop, but other icons will disappear.

Hope this works for you.

Bye

I think the problem with the Alias option is that

1) It has that little arrow at the bottom left

2) It doesn't show the disk space information.
