I know Beejive and IM+ have been released but I don't use IM that often so was wondering if there was a free push app coming. I think Meebo have something in the pipeline but think that might be some time yet.

Does AIM do MSN and Google Chat?

Didn't realise IM+ did a free version, what are the restrictions?

the restrictions for IM+ are that you cant to facebook chat and skype. and there are ads i think. i use the free version. aim doesn't do msn as far as i know. IM+ does msn and a bunch of other ones too

IM+ now has push in the AppStore does the free version support it? Can you test it?

yea, with mobile me i guess it would work. i really only have that for my windows live chatting. i use aim free and im looking at upgrading to the paid aim app

Ooh, Ooh, maybe Google are going to release a GMail push and a Google Talk IM push app?

just create a yahoo mail account, forward your Gmail account to it, and voila, you've got push.

I want push notification, not it pushing email to me. Lets face it, its hard to tell when you have an email.. the sound is too low and there is no notification.

Thus, jailbreaking ;)

Why be so cheap? Pay a few bucks and get a real im application.

The most expensive IM app for the phone is like $15.00 and it is worth every penny of it. Others are less expensive.

You have a $600.00 phone and probably $50-$100 a month phone bill. Shelling out $5.00-$15.00 for an app that you will probably get a lot of use out of, seems to be something silly to be chintzy on.

I am as big a cheapskate as it comes, but even for me it was a no-brainer paying for beejive, for example.

AIM Free edition has push notifications and it is working great. This is ad supported though.

[app]eBuddy[/app] has released an update with push. Seems limited to 30 mins connection though. And when I tested it with my other email address there was quite a delay for the messages being pushed. Nice app though.

eBuddy? I didn't know they had an app for the iPhone. Did it just come out?
