Needing to get my 64gb 5 replaced due to the fact that my down volume button no longer works. Hesitant because I do not want to lose the JB. Wondering if anyone has had a replacement lately and if so what ios version came installed. Thanks.

I have a feeling it'll most likely be 6.1.3 because it has been quite some time since it came out and the new tweaked iPhone 5 is coming out in 7 days

Both Verizon overnight and Apple in-store replacements for my white 64 GB had version 6.0 on them. :(

Got an in store replacement 2 nights ago. 32 gig white iPhone 5 and it was still rocking 6.1.2 :). I have a feeling 32 and 64 gig phones don't sell as much as the 16 gig model so more than likely the 32 and 64 gig replacement units will have been in there a while and still have an older version of iOS 6.

This^^^

I've received 7 iphones from the apple store, all are rocking 6.1-6.1.2

Have an appointment for tomorrow morning. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I wonder how long before the iPhones become like the Apple TV 2? I'm tempted to go get the HTC one and would love to sell my iPhone 4S for a silly amount like apple tv2 are fetching...

Got my 3rd replacement just last week..

6.1.2

It's a tough chance to take if you're JB. You risk getting an OS that is not compatible (6.1.3), but you also run the risk of getting a older OS where you cannot restore from a back up (no SHSH blobs on new device). So, you better hope you get the exact same version as you have now.

Just got a 16gb replacement yesterday, it was still on 6.1.2

Wondering if I go in and if the unit they pull is 6.1.3 if I can turn down the replacement and ask if they have a 6.1.2 or older available. Kinda pushing my luck I am sure.

What would your answer be when they ask you why you don't want the phone?

Would say that my wife and sons phone are both on 6.1.3 and are both experiencing the wifi and battery issues. My phone on 6.1.2 is running just fine.

And they would know exactly why you were saying that. Geniuses may not be geniuses, but they aren't idiots either. They know about jailbreaking, and most of the ones I know take particular satisfaction in making sure you DON'T get a jailbreakable one if they know you are desperate for one.

Good luck, but most of them are 6.13 now. Still a chance though.

Curious as to why so many people get their phone replaced so much? I've never had to get a replacement. I see like if your volume button doesn't work or something but why are people getting like 3 or 4 replacements?

Well rolled the dice and it paid off. Replacement 5 came with iOS 6.0.2. Not the 6.1.2 that I had but I can deal with it since I will still be able JB. Thanks for the input everyone.

Was thinking the same thing, myself.
