We can only guess. Maybe there's some glitch in the GPS hardware which indicates the opposite direction 1-in-a-million times, and Apple didn't want to get sued for the head-on collision death of the millionth user watching their iPhone instead of the road? Maybe the map data provider didn't want to pay for liability insurance either?
no background running app no turn-by-turn. imagine u using gps and receive a call, you pick up the phone and a turn coming up. if it's turn-by-turn it has to come from apple, make it like ipod function so it can run in background.
Some allow you to email you location to someone and othes can track your route on a featureless background so you can see a sqiggle of where you have been !
All the other phones have turn by turn directions but I can email my location so all in all way to go apple you really do know how to satisfy your users!!!!
