Any good writing apps to help a second language speaker?

Something that works alongside Word for Mac, which would help a creative writer spruce up their descriptions?

Maybe they could highlight a sentence, and it would suggest another way of expressing the same thing.

Anything along those lines? It wouldn't need to pass any sort of academic check (like Turnitin), it's for an older second language speaker's enjoyment only.

If not a Word plugin, then I guess it could be a standalone desktop writing app for Mac.

Tried subbing to 365 family and test driving it on the web there, but it doesn't show up!
