So currently still running El Capitan on a firmware upgraded 5,1 with gtx680. I have a rx580 that i want to install, so would like to move to Mojave, but can't really find any definite guides to do so?

anyone have any links to good guides?

The app store will only let me download high sierra...

oh, btw, i have no use for either wifi or bluetooth on my mac pro, so don't really care if i loose that functionality..

thx for any help guys

You're one day and half early. Mojave only will be released on the 24, around 9 or 10 AM Pacific time.

You can get ready:
  1. Disable FileVault2, if you use it. It's not supported with Mojave yet.
  2. Download 10.13.6 from the Mac App Store and update your firmware to MP51.0089.B00. Just open the installer, do the firmware update, close it.
  3. Go to beta.apple.com and download the Mojave beta to update your firmware to 138.0.0.0.0. Just open the installer, do the firmware update, close it.
  4. Backup all your user files, to do a clean install. Apple will ask you to upgrade to 10.13.6 before upgrading to Mojave. It's just easier to backup, erase your drive and then install Mojave from a USB key - if you have updated your firmware first.

Cool, glad your around mate.
Does high Sierra now have native support for the rx580? If so, I might just stick with that for a few weeks..

Running the stock BT and wifi cards for the 4,1, will that effect anythingon high sierra

Cheers..

Apple started to support RX480/580 with Sierra, but is buggier as hell. Install 10.13.6 on a empty disk, update your firmware first to MP51.0089.B00 then to 138.0.0.0.0, yes the Mojave one. With 138.0.0.0.0 you will get 5GT/s support with RX-580.

I have tested every Mojave release since WWDC, I only will install it on my main/work disk after 10.14.2. With a Mac Pro you can easily have a test disk, no motive to be a beta tester with your main/work disk.

Apple removed support only for the early 4,1 AirPort Extreme card, BCM94321MC, Bluetooth is fully supported. You can buy an Apple BCM94322MC, $10 on eBay, and replace yours if it's a BCM94321MC. Mojave still has full support for BCM94322MC.

Flashed the high sierra rom, installing high sierra as I am typing this.
finished installing high sierra, weird... Both BT and wifi work. Was expecting it not too.

I do however have an issue, I can't locate the macos Mojave beta on the app store after signing up..

Maybe it's because I am on the Ozzie app store?

It’s not Mojave (OS), but firmware 138.0.0.0.0 fix the 5GT/s issue.

It sure does, as you guys said, now at full 5GT/'s. Fans quiet as a mouse.

Might wait till the official release to install Mojave. :D
