Any known issue so far? I need to decide whether to buy Apple Care+ or not.
AppleCare+ for issues (known or unknown) IMO is useless as any problem would be addressed under warranty during the first two years.
I’ve replaced two iPads 2018 11” pro during the first two years of ownership due to ghost touch issues, and even though I had AC+ both replacements were carried out under warranty.
AC+ is only really useful for accidental damage.
I use mine everyday. It’s been to Germany and back and used as my only computer during the trip. It served me well with my presentations, note taking, MS Outlook, Teams, SmartSheet with my Apple Magic Keyboard - everything I needed on a work day basis.Any known issue so far? Not a single issue AND I used it to edit my monochrome photos I take as a photography enthusiast in the evenings as well as my entertainment.
I’ve opted for the monthly AppleCare plan. It’s a little more expensive, but easier to drop at any point in time if I choose.
Yes, absolutely to drop. But, I wasn’t aware it could be transferred. I’ll look into that - thanks!Isn't the one time AppleCare+ plan also easy to drop or transfer to a new iPad?
Here is what Apple says: Applecare can be transferred to another owner for a particular hardware item (e.g., selling to a new owner), or transferred to an identical item (e.g., a replacement item).Yes, absolutely to drop. But, I wasn’t aware it could be transferred. I’ll look into that - thanks!
Are you talking about iPad Pro? What caused the burn spots?I purchased my 2021 M1 12.9 in June of last year. Around November of last year, I got a couple of burn spots on the screen. One I knew about. They found another. They gave me a replacement free of charge. So far the screen is doing well.
Are you talking about iPad Pro? What caused the burn spots?

Yes. 12.9 iPad Pro. They didn't know why I got those burn in spots. I was glad to get a new one immediately from them. Are you talking about iPad Pro? What caused the burn spots?
But it's something to keep in consideration.Keep in mind that you can't really draw conclusions from a few cases/anecdotes on a forum - that's the nature of forums. I'm not saying that the posters didn't have a problem - they do - just that you can't extrapolate to a larger population and conclude that a device is systemically bad.
I had started a thread about this around that time with a work order from Apple. No one here in the iPad Forums responded to it.Yes. 12.9 iPad Pro. They didn't know why I got those burn in spots. I was glad to get a new one immediately from them.

So you're saying if I had two burn ins on the screen of my 2021 12.9 iPad Pro within 4 months of purchase, it's insignificant because it isn't in the broader news reports? It's good to hear about things that are not going on with the broader news reports. That's why Forum Groups are good. And do what with it? Based on forum inputs, you'd never buy any piece of technology, photo gear, vehicle, etc. Forums lean heavily toward people reporting individual problems. I would look more to broader news reports regarding systemic issues.

I understand that it wouldn't have an effect on your buying decisions, but it may make someone else think first before making an expensive purchase such as a 2021 IPAD Pro 12.9.And reading about your experience would have had zero impact on my purchasing the 2021 12.9 which I have and have had zero issues with it. That's my point - these reports here have no effect on my buying decisions.
And I don’t think it should.I understand that it wouldn't have an effect on your buying decisions, but it may make someone else think first before making an expensive purchase such as a 2021 IPAD Pro 12.9.
