I am 316,000 in the waitlist that is pushing 4 million. I badly need to upgrade my phone and want to try the OnePlus 2 if I can before the iPhone 6s launches. If I don't like the OP2 I can always switch back to the iPhone. But once the iPhone launches, I can't switch to the OP2 because my AT&T Next plan would have already kicked in.

Any idea how to get an invite for the OnePlus 2?

There is no way to circumvent the invite system other than buying from a Chinese importer. Invites are actually delayed for at least another 3 weeks according to Carl Pei's last post.
Add your at 300,000 ... Realistically unless benevolence falls your way by some miracle your looking at end of October / November ... Any more delays and possibly longer.
If you want to buy one you could try an importer like eglobalcentral but expect to pay at least $100 more. Personally if you were really desperate to try one, $100 to circumvent the ****** invite system and the wasting your time doesn't seem like that bad a tradeoff
