I recently bought a Late 2012 Mac Mini Quad Core. I am now on my 3rd set of 2x8GB RAM trying to upgrade it. I tried 2 sets of Corsair and am now trying some Kingston. After several crashes I have narrowed it down that Bank 0 will not accept 8GB of RAM.

The original 2x2GB RAM together work fine.

2GB of RAM alone in Bank 0 or Bank 1 works fine.

8GB of RAM alone in Bank 1 works fine (either stick)

8GB of RAM in Bank 1 and 2GB of original RAM in Bank 0 works fine

Anytime I put 8GB of RAM in Bank 0 whether it is alone, with the other 8GB stick in Bank 1 or with the original 2GB stick in Bank 1, I get kernel panics.

I've tried resetting the PRAM each time I test each installation. Any suggestions?

Return the mini. Tell apple the story above.

basically 6 different sticks of 8gb work in one slot and don't work in the other.

that means a bad slot.
