Hey,

I was under the impression that IM+ and Beejive 3.0 updates were submitted for approval around the same time. However, following the recent availability of the 3.0-supported Beejive application, the scene has been rather quiet.

I'm just wondering if anybody has heard any news about the forthcoming IM+ update and when it may be available?

Thanks.

I have a feeling apple are holding back on any more big push apps. They probably picked beejive as a test app for the masses to see how it went (and I've read reports that it hasn't been perfect!)

I think the push notifications have been perfect. Of course, this is my experience. So far I've received all of them.

Beejive, on the other hand, had serious server problems yesterday but have apparently been fixed. This has nothing to do with the push notifications.

On the forums, beejive themselves are saying push has had issues

Push Notifications
It seems that Apple is still working out the kinks... push was working great for me the past 2 weeks and now I get them intermittently, so I would council patience

The app was not approved by Apple because it looks so bad. They didnt want to hurt their customers eyes ;). But seriously though, that app is horrible looking. Clean up the UI!!! It looks like a 5th grader went nuts with crayons.

I don't disagree, and I'm using Beejive at the moment. The reason I ask is that I've not found a Twitter app developer who has mentioned push-notifications as yet, and I think IM+ will do it.

Here we go again with the Beejive loving IM+ bashing. Apple approved Beejive faster because its twice as much as IM+ which means more revenue for Apple every time its purchased. Its because of business, not the UI.

i got sick of waiting for IM+ so i shelled out £6 for BeejiveIM. Best £6 i have ever spent! It really is that much better that IM+ (yes i also have IM+)

And since you are basing this on absolutely no fact, no one will listen to you from this point on.

Congrats.

Fun fact: AIM - Free was approved before BeeJive. But hey this wasnt a post about facts was it.

I was just logging in to ask this very question.

Where the hell is the update? Seems Apple are up to their old tricks with age-long approvals of updates...

I personally think it hasn't been approved because of, Twitter. IM+ would be the only App to have Push Notification for Twitter and being that twitter is immensely popular, Apple is slowing its roll.

Push up for im+

Already working better than beejive too.

Push is fine on apple's side, just slow updates from the app store (as always. )

Chronological order:

1.IM plus submitted an update for 3.0 OS compatability

2.Beejive sends real push notificaton for apple approval.

3.Apple approves IM plus's update. People think it has push but it really doesnt just OS 3.0 tested.

4.Beejive's update with real push and along with aim's update get approved...horray!(Even though it took like a month)

5.IM plus says they have submitted their push update and is in apple review..

6. IM Plus's push update gets approved..

This is what happened in case you guys were wondering...

Some people think apple approved beejives update faster than IM plus..but in reality thats not the case..Beejive submitted an update even before OS 3.0 hit itunes..therefore it got approved faster...

IM+ doesn't seem to support push for Twitter notifications, which I'm guessing people have noticed by now.
