Hello guys.
After the recent Time machine migration hell, I am tired of Time Machine file-based backup system and want to look for something that is more robust and more portable. Tried CCC but it was also file-based backup, meaning I still cannot just migrate the backup to another drive if the current one is broken or so.
AFAIK only Acronis offers image-based backup, but home version offers too few options, and business version can no longer be purchased as a perpetual license. Do you guys have other recommendations of macOS backup software that writes backup data to an image, rather than into a bunch of folders?

Your post makes absolulely NO SENSE at all.

The main point behind a "bootable cloned backup" such as those you make with CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper is that you can BOOT FROM the cloned backup, and then just "clone it back over" to the internal drive (or ANY other drive) and thus have a completely set-up and functioning drive from the start.

I've done this myself more than once.

What I see for Acronis backup is a single file with backup contents inside. I can also create Acronis bootable media to boot and restore. When I open CCC backup drive, I see folders, not a single file with backup inside. While it can boot, I don’t want to copy a 1TB backup for 24 hours like Time Machine did.

Surely whichever route you go, at some point you will need to copy your drive back to boot from.....?
Taking 24hrs or however long it takes.
