As Apple finally decided to release a PC version of the iPod I'm gonna buy a 20 GB version as soon as I find someone in my neighbourhood who's visiting the US soon. Cause I'm not going to pay the difference of 160 $ just for importing/shipping/taxes.

As well I'm about to rip a huge part of my CD collection to ogg vorbis, maybe also AAC (I'll have yet to do some tests which sounds better to my ears) so is there any chance the iPod is going to playback these formats? Either officially via a firmware upgrade or by some 'hacked' software someone is currently working on? Thanks for any info.

well, iTunes, the supercool Mac only music program (couldn't resist), will play AAC files, though it will not encode them as yet. Look for a firmware update soon, Apple is definitely sticking with AAC.;)
